₪ Bionic oriented Imageprocessing
During the last years IngB R&S developed new bionic oriented algorithm. Focal points of these R&D-activities have been on one side the development of lightning invariant contour detection methods on the other side the development of algorithm to separate, to point out or to mark large- scale features in images. Bionic basis of these new image processing techniques is the simulation of neuron structures as they are found in the inner retinal layers.
Especially for medical application we can show that these algorithm are highly predestinated to carve out structure components and cell types out of histological images.
An essential feature of the developed image processing methods is that, by means of an adjustable parameter, the user can decide which structural components are to be emphasized in the image and which components should be taken into the background.
On the right are shown parts of the nervous system of a snake (see picture on the left). In the first case, the structures of the tissue should be worked out in a finely resolving manner, whereas in the second case the different cell structures should be separated.
